Dickens' Rochester and Vicinity

Charles Dickens had strong and lasting ties to the Rochester/Chatham area. He lived in the area as a child and returned to it again and again in his fiction. He also spent the last 10 years of his life in the area, residing at Gads Hill Place where he died on June 9, 1870.
